How to Recruit Corentin
Corentin can only be recruited through choices which means that you don't need to raise any conviction value before he joins your army. To recruit Corentin, you must visit Hyzante in Chapter 3. Because of this, you can't recruit Rudolph and Corentin in the same playthrough unless you opt for a New Game+.

Overview
Corentin was a researcher in Hyzante who worked in the ministry of medicine. He doesn't really like the limitations placed by Hyzante's Laws on research but despite this, he doesn't say a word in fear of persecution.
Tips and Tricks
Corentin is an ice mage, which means that most of his spells will freeze the ground and offer debuffs to units that pass and stay on top of it. Corentin's Shield of Ice is a great utility skill that protects the target from taking damage the spell also retaliates with an ice spell when the target was attacked.
Wall of Ice is also a really good spell unique to Corentin. He's the only unit in the game that has an ability used to deliberately block a passage or make a space tighter to funnel enemy units into one line and make it easier for your tanks to take all the damage and not worry about being surrounded.
His spells are almost a carbon copy of what Frederica has and the only big reason you'd pick Corentin over Frederica is when most of the enemies you have are weak to ice. He doesn't really have Frederica's K.O. TP+ which means that he doesn't restore TP on kill.
What he has to counteract that lack of TP restoration when killing is TP+ on Ice, a passive that he unlocks at the very last of his class advancement. When standing on a frozen tile, he gains +1 more TP at the start of the turn. You can argue that this is a much more consistent way of restoring TP and you'd be right. It just takes a bit of a set up.
