Can I block buyers with no feedback? ›

Sellers can't block buyers with 0 feedback. There is no global block, but as happened to the OP, the seller can cancel their bid and then add them to the BBL.

It's not possible to block buyers based on feedback. It is possible to block non-payers. Set your buyer requirements to block buyers with two or more unpaid item strikes. Also, setting up your listings as Buy It Now with immediate payment required keeps the listing active until it's actually paid for.

It can be safe, but new sellers often have problems because of PayPal payment holds, or just plain inexperience. Unfortunatel,y there has been an increase in New Seller scams, that make it hard on the legitimate new or occassional sellers.

It is not possible to automatically block all bidders/buyers with zero or positive feedback ratings. In your site preferences you can block bidders (1) who have negative scores, i.e., -1 or lower; or (2) bidders/buyers who have purchased at least one item from you in the past 10 days.

You can choose to block buyers based on certain criteria. For example, buyers living in a country you don't ship to, or buyers with excessive canceled orders because they didn't pay for items. You can also choose to exclude specific postage locations (regions, countries, PO boxes) from your listings.

By default, blocked buyers are still able to contact you about your listings. If you don't want them to contact you, select Don't allow blocked buyers to contact you in Site Preferences (they may still be able to get in touch with you if it's about an existing transaction).

Blocking A Buyer

To block buyers with low feedback, go into my eBay and seller preferences and go to the blocked buyers list. Then you can go into buyer requirements and stop those with five feedback or less from being able to contact you.

Failure to pay for items is a violation of our abusive buyer policy. When a seller cancels an order because the buyer hasn't paid, the unpaid cancellation is recorded on the buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid cancellations may have limits imposed by a seller or by eBay, or lose their buying privileges.

The feedback percentage is for feedback received for the past 12 months. If they have not received any feedback in the past 12 months, it will show 0%.

Buyers and sellers. Now, only about one-quarter of them leave feedback, no matter if it's a buyer OR seller. Even sellers with an actual Ebay Store, who you would think would use the automated feedback tool that gives you feedback the minute you buy.....but they don't anymore.

How bad is neutral feedback on eBay? ›

Hi, a neutral rating will have little to no impact. Your score is not affected by it, so it will remain at 100%. The first time might sting you a bit, but overall, feedback is declining in use by buyers on eBay. So you needn't worry about your reputation.

Comments can be removed for violating policy, but very few buyers think their comments actually violated policy. Sellers can get feedback removed if the seller can demonstrate that the buyer attempted to use a threat of negative feedback to obtain something the buyer was not entitled to.

There is no block to prevent buyers from leaving feedback.

You can't remove it. The buyer can contact customer service and have it removed, and you will get a policy violation. It is against policy to leave a negative comment for any buyer.

If a member has violated one of our feedback policies, you can ask us to have it removed. Once we review it, we may remove the entire feedback, or just the element that violates the policy, i.e. the comment, image or rating.

You can't see each other's listings on Marketplace. You can't send each other any new messages. You and the profile you block can still see any messages sent before you blocked them. Buyers and sellers will still be able to see ratings and reviews, even from profiles that they've blocked.

Sellers can't leave negative (or neutral) feedback for buyers because too many sellers were using the threat of negative retaliation to discourage less than positive feedback from buyers no matter how warranted it was.

We recommend you leave feedback for your buyers as soon as they've paid — they'll be more likely to leave prompt feedback for you in return.

Tick the box next to “Only set this requirement to block buyers with a feedback score” and choose a score that works for you. For example, if you select “5” then only someone with a feedback score of six or more can buy multiple items from you.
