What happens if a player doesn't want to be traded?
Unless an NBA player has a “no trade clause” in his contract, he cannot “refuse” a trade. The team whom he is contractually obligated to has the right to trade him — and that contract — to another team.
The player can veto the trade for any reason, unless the provision specifically says something different. Both teams must understand how salary-cap issues impact teams. In the 2020 CBA agreement, the limitation rule called the “Final Eight Plan” was removed.
A player can refuse to play for the team that drafts him. In that case, the team will most likely squat on the rights to sign that player, to see if they get a good offer from another team. If the player is a late-round pick or a borderline player, then the team would probably just cut him.

If an automatic release amount is triggered, a club will be contractually bound to accept the amount offered. If the club who has the player's registration refuse to release him, then it is likely an arbitration process would follow between the two clubs to assess the validity of the release clause.

Ideally, you should hold your trades for as long as your trading plan specifies. If you exit before a pullback, or near the start of a pullback, you'll typically have smaller winning trades, but you'll win slightly more often. Practice in a demo account and see which method results in the most consistent performance.

That team owner can then go to their Team page to review the deal, and either accept or decline your offer. If no action is taken within the specified number of days, the system will automatically cancel the trade offer.
Trade Review Process
Standard leagues: During the trade review period, if four of the ten team managers vote to veto a trade, the trade will be canceled. A link on the main League Office page allows you to view pending trades and submit your veto if you choose to do so.

Veto a trade in a Public or Private League
Public and Private Leagues require one-third of managers to vote against a trade for it to be vetoed. If the number of managers isn't divisible by 3 then the fractional number is rounded up to the nearest whole number to determine how many managers are needed for a veto.
