Has Destiny 2 been taken off Xbox Game Pass?
Destiny 2 and its expansions were removed from the console version of Game Pass a few months ago, but now PC gamers will have to part ways with it as well.
"We've also been working on the Destiny engine behind the scenes, preparing our technology and our game to last for many, many years to come," Bungie general manager Justin Truman said last night. "Destiny 2 is not going anywhere, and neither are your expansions.

If reporting surrounding Bungie and the Destiny franchise is accurate, Destiny 2 will continue to be robustly supported into 2025.
While that story remains a crucial piece of the lore, players will be losing access to much of the content that came alongside it. Both The Dreaming City and The Last Wish raid will be sticking around, but the Tangled Shore is on the chopping block and taking Spider's hideout along with it.

Why is Destiny 2 deleting content?
Over the past few years, Bungie has removed a number of paid DLCs — making them no longer playable to anyone — because the game grew to a point where it was difficult to implement new content. The Red War campaign, Warmind, Curse of Osiris, and Forsaken were all placed into the Destiny Content Vault as a result.
Bungie will not remove any of the game's three dungeons with Beyond Light. However, the Prophecy dungeon will disappear for a while so Bungie can fix a technical problem. The studio will reveal later when it expects Prophecy to return, but the dungeon isn't going into the DCV.

Players can still play through the original Destiny and its expansions, and while the world is a bit emptier, The Taken King remains one of the best expansions in the series to date.

This started in 2020, when Bungie removed almost all of the original Destiny 2 content — including the base campaign — and last year it removed the Forsaken campaign, largely considered the expansion where Destiny 2 truly arrived.

Xbox Game Pass is removing Forsaken, Shadowkeep and Beyond Light. Witch Queen will arrive and vault the Forsaken campaign and Tangled Shore. Before that, the campaign will be made free for three months, but Destiny will still sell a Forsaken Pack including the dungeon, raid and exotics from that expansion.

On the opposite end, the actual game mechanics and post-launch support for Destiny 2 are much better than the original game. Taking aside the nostalgia and tone of the original, Destiny 2 has much more content to dive into and has a more consistent update model.
