Do you need ventilation for propane forge?
It is extremely important to work in a well-ventilated area outdoors when you are building a forge at home. A well-ventilated workspace prevents the buildup of carbon monoxide. If you are working in a garage, open the garage door and install a carbon monoxide detector.
It's safe to bring it indoors, but not to fire it up. Burned propane produces carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide as byproducts. They will kill you if you're in an enclosed space with poor ventilation.
Use a Vent
It will drive out heat and moisture from the air. It blows conditioned air out of your blacksmithing shop. Most people often use vents alongside extraction fans to improve their functionality. If you have set up your forge near a wall, place a vent in the wall behind the forge.
A forge can be set up almost anywhere personal preference dictates: in a house, basem*nt, tipi, barn, dome, shed . . . or out under the sky.
Compared to direct vent options, vent-free propane heaters are less expensive and offer greater installation flexibility, since they don't require outdoor venting or access to an external wall.

Preparing Wood
As you prepare the fuel for your forge, consider the amount of surface area of the wood. A large chunk of wood does not have as much exposure to oxygen as the same piece will when it is split smaller. The more surface area you have, the faster your wood will become charcoal and make a hot fire.
Propane is stored within the tank as a liquid, which is then released through a valve as gas. However, when temperatures drop too low within the tank, right around -44 degree Fahrenheit, the propane no longer has the ability to convert into its gaseous form.
An above ground propane tank needs to be at least 10 feet away from any exterior source of ignition, openings into direct-vent gas appliances, or mechanical ventilation air intakes (Location of ASME Containers from NFPA 58, Appendix 1).

FUEL AND TOOLS
Coal, co*ke or charcoal may be used as fuel. Charcoal is very clean and there is little to contaminate the metal. It is of low density, however, and greater amounts must be burnt to provide enough heat for bigger jobs.
A 100lb tank is about 80$ to refill for me and lasts around 16-18 hours of forging, so about $5 hour to run it.

Most parts of Florida, Louisiana, and eastern Texas have swaths of wetland or swamps or significant coastlines. So, there's just too much water underground to make basem*nt construction feasible. Water, in some cases, is less than one meter (3.3 feet) deep.

Step 6: Insulate your forge
Use a 50/50 combination of Plaster of Paris and sand to insulate the base of your tray with a refractory coating. Mix the two ingredients together dry and add a small amount of water until it is a clay-like consistency. You are aiming for a 1cm coating all around the inside of the tray.

Here are some clearance rules of thumb to follow when planning the location of your fire pit. Celestial recommends a minimum clearance of 36″ on all sides and 96″ above the burner. We also recommend a minimum clearance of 2″ under your burner pan.
Although the gas fire feature is controlled, it still radiates heat, and heat rises. If there is not enough clearance above the fire pit, the patio cover can overheat, melt, and possibly catch on fire. No matter where you decide to place your fire feature, ensure that it doesn't block an overhead clearance.
Can I use a N95 mask for resin?
We ALWAYS recommend using a respirator mask. Regular dust masks/N95 masks will not filter out the harsh chemical vapors created when resin and hardeners are mixed. When you apply heat to your resin pieces to create effects and pop air bubbles, those fumes are blown around and should not be inhaled.

Propane is very easily obtained and has the advantage of being portable, cleaner, and hotter than coal and charcoal. If you own a propane torch, you can just use that to heat metal. If you plan to do a lot of smithing or building, purchasing a propane forge will become a consideration.
Typical forge welding temperatures for a propane forge are accepted as 2,300 degrees F, and common forging can be accomplished at a lower temperature. The body must be painted so that it will be protected from corrosion.
Depends what kind of burner you're running, if you're running a ribbon burner it will howl if you don't have an opening on both ends. Other than that you're fine.
