Perhaps one of the more obvious skills in archery, it is crucial for any archer to have a certain level of accuracy before shooting an arrow. Accuracy is the ability to shoot the arrow at a specific spot on a target, for example, to hit the middle ring on a target.
Put in the time practicing archery, and you will quickly see a difference in your pectoralis muscles, a.k.a. your “pecs.” Archery works your pecs much like a front raise. It develops arm muscles. Your biceps and triceps will look lean and toned after a few sessions of virtual ninja archery.
Archery is a control sport. To be the best archer possible, you need to be able to control the bow exactly the same from beginning to end and session to session. Strength and endurance are required to control your bow.
This is called string-walking, and it allows the archer to aim with the arrow. The archer must then raise the bow and draw the bowstring to their face, often anchoring their middle draw finger in the corner of the mouth so that the string aligns with the eye, and aims with the point of the arrow on the target.
