Background[]

Retribution[]

Following the events of the Umbrella Prime facility, survivors Alice, along with Leon, Jill, Becky, and Ada Wong are air-lifted back to Washington D.C. by help sent by Albert Wesker.

The survivors are presumably taken through an underground path that lead them into the building. Inside, Marines were hard at work mounting and reinforcing the defense against the undead and bio-organic weapons. Alice is given an audience with Wesker inside the Oval Office, and shortly thereafter, Wesker injects her with the T-virus again, restoring her powers.Wesker then reveals to the survivors that they are all that stand against the Red Queen, who intends to destroy all of humanity with the undead and other mutations created by the T-virus.

All the while, missiles and machine guns are used on airborne enemies as Uber-Lickers are trying to get over the wall; flamethrowers and air-crafts fire into the crowds of the undead. Adding to the already terrible state of things, the virus has now created winged abominations, which attack all the air-crafts flying around the White House.

The Final Chapter[]

Wesker's gathering of the last remnants of humanity at the White House is revealed to be an Umbrella ploy to destroy what is left of humanity aside from Umbrella itself. Wesker ultimately betrays the forces gathered at the White House, destroying it and killing everyone there except Alice and himself. When Alice awakens, the White House is in ruins surrounded by the ruins of Washington, DC.

Description[]

White House (Anderson) (1)

Theinside, within the halls at least, is cluttered with supplies, computers and maps for attacks. Some entrances have plastic covering on them, perhaps meaning they only lead to supplies. Wesker takes residence in the Oval Office, which has the windows barricaded and several maps and information screens along the walls.

On the outside, the building has beenfortified into a makeshift military base, protected by a large fortified wall surrounding the greater part of its landscape. Missile launchers and spotlights are also mounted on the roof, which machine guns on the balconies in front. The yard is full of tanks and air-crafts, which never cease in use due to attacks by large mutations. On top of the wall, spotlights and searchlights are utilized to keep track of movement and guide everyday movement during the night. Both the wall and the building itself are mounted with .50 caliber machine guns and flame throwers to ward off attacks from the infected and reduce them to ashes. It appears that there was a secondary wall around the current one, given the single operational spotlight and the several broken ones; it was most likely destroyed by the Uber-Lickers and crashing air-crafts.

Following Wesker's betrayal, the White House is a mere shell, having apparently been obliterated in a bomb blast or something similar. Around it, Washington, DC is in complete ruins with no signs of the massive infected army aside from a few scattered mutations.

Further notes[]

  • While The Final Chapter movie doesn't explain what happened at the White House beyond Wesker betraying everyone, the novelization shows the battle. While fighting the Undead army, its revealed that its not humanity's final stand but a battle between Wesker and Dania Cardoza, the head of Umbrella Research and Development who wishes to take his place. The Undead army is under Dania's control and she merges them into one giant monster called a Melange which consumes everything its path, killing Leon, Ada and Jill along the way. Alice kills Dania by telekinetically crashing her V-22, but the Melange kills everyone else in the area before dying. Wesker's injection contained an antidote that removes Alice's powers once she uses her telekinesis and Wesker leaves her to the Melange, but Alice manages to get into a bolt hole on the White House grounds and survive. Its later revealed that Becky survived as well in a safe room a staff member placed her within and is found at the end of the novel by Alice with the Red Queen's help.
