The antonym for strict is lenient.EG. She is not a strict teacher, she is very lenient.

One word that is similar to "not strict" is "lenient".

For example,

Our bank is quite lenient when it comes to late fees.

Another good word is "tolerant".

For example:

Dana's parents are quite tolerant when it comes to her love of traveling.

I added too, as it expresses an opinion to match the second part of the sentence.
