"To take action" is an idiom that means to do something, to get involved, to act in order to get a particular result.Examples:
- If you want to get into a good university you can't just sit around. You have to take action and study hard.
- If you want something done, take action and do it yourself.
- We are going to take action in the community by doing voluntary work.
