The Chase: The Beast 'guarantees victory' for himself
The 52-year-old, who regularly wows viewers with his general knowledge on The Chase, seems to have earned his moniker due to his surname.
Mark took up his role on The Chase in 2009 and has been a firm favourite ever since.
He has also appeared on the American version of the television quiz show as their sole chaser in 2013.
The Beast is named that because in French, la bête, which is very similar to Labbett, means beast.
Last year, Mark revealed that he had been diagnosed with a life-changing health condition during an appearance on Loose Women.
Speaking as part of the show’s Men’s Bodies Stories campaign, he told how he had been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
He told the panel: “Those who’ve got diabetes know there’s actually several indicators.
“They check for cholesterol, blood sugar, weight is one of them. And my indicators are all quite comfortably in the yellow zone with one big one in the red zone: my BMI.”
Mark went on to add: “In some sense it made it easier, just no arguments now. I’ve enjoyed being this heavy, I always used to say I’ve got away with it. Well, now I haven’t so the weight’s coming off.”
The quiz master, who is originally from Devon, married his wife Katie in 2014, who he recently revealed is his second cousin.
