Subway POS System [2022] See Which Brand They Use (2024)

As one of the largest fast-food chains on Earth, Subway needs a robust point of sale solution with the ability to compile millions of data points and accurately track a high-volume of transactions daily.

As of today, Subway uses the ParTech POS System, which is the same system used by a number of retail industries, hotels, spas, restaurants, and more.

Continue reading below as we cover how the ParTech POS system integrates into the Subway franchise, and to find out if this POS brand is the right choice for you.

ParTech POS System Overview

ParTech is under the ownership of the PAR Technology Corporation. Subway decided to go with PAR EverServ POS hardware after looking at a variety of POS system vendors.

The beauty of PAR's EverServ POS system is that it is one of the most flexible, durable, and scalable point of sale systems on the market today, beyond the fact that it is incredibly compact to fit nicely into just about any Subway restaurant. The hardware provides an improved graphical user interface, powerful processors for peak performance, and expedited service.

There are plenty of energy-saving features present on this point of sale system and the hardware is made to withstand the hard, day-to-day operations that take place within each Subway restaurant.

Even with a low cost, this point of sale solution has a surprisingly long lifespan. ParTech worked very closely with Subway to make sure that the system was able to meet all of the requirements for the technology and scalability.

Adding In POS Kiosks

After more than ten years with ParTech POS systems in each restaurant, Subway decided to redesign the interior of all restaurant locations using new kiosk POS systems, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi and a mobile app for online ordering. The information on these kiosks is also displayed on the digital menu boards, which restaurant managers are able to make altercations to when necessary.

Each store now has separate pre-order pickup locations and food preparation locations for the implementation of the new POS kiosk technology.

One of Subway's biggest competitors these days is Panera Bread, which implemented this technology at its locations over five years ago. To keep up with its competition and turnaround the decrease in sales over the past five years, Subway decided to implement these POS kiosks in its business, allowing customers to pay with Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

These POS kiosks are quite unique, in that they provide every customer a way to see the entire restaurant menu and create their own sandwich, similar to how a customer would create a sandwich walking down the line.

Subway's mobile application was also attached to this kiosk implementation. To hook up its mobile application with its point of sale solution, the company decided to go with Sintel Systems.

Sintel Systems delivered a unique Direct-to-POS Online Ordering, which puts any orders that are aced online directly on the POS system as soon as the orders are made.

As you can see, Subway's unique POS technology is able to provide widespread functionality, making it easy for every employee to move through the training process quickly and process store operations with ease.

The technology keeps the menu consistent from store to store, keeps data stored on cloud-based software for easy access, and allows customers to order food through the website with ease. Plus, all of it comes at a surprisingly low cost.

It is worth noting that the software and technology that Subway uses for its restaurants is unique to the company's operations.
