Mother's the word: Using the Oxford English dictionary, which offers several interpretations of the word 'mother', Siri also includes the 'vulger slang' word 'motherf*cker'

RedditorHahahahahaimsofunny was the first to respond with the answer, and wrote: 'Motherf**ker!'

Apple appears to have programmed Siri using the Oxford English dictionary, which offers several interpretations of the word 'mother'.

While the first explanation deals with the definition of mother in regular terms, the second interpretation defines 'mother' as part of 'North American vulgar slang short for motherf**ker'.

And the post quickly went viral with Reddit users as hundreds flocked to the comments section to share their own experiences of trying to get Siri to use profanities.

User ellipses1 wrote: 'I have english accent siri on and it sounds like she said "north africa".'

And SimonReach offered the phonetic interpretation and typed: 'Mu-ther-fi-ker'.

Similarly, radagasthebrown shared: 'I hear meh-therf-ihka, kinda like Methuselah but with different letters'.

A sentiment shared by DomPhotography who added: 'Blends all the letter together and she said it super fast'.

'It's almost as bad as how Apple maps names A-roads e.g. "A Four-tuh" no one says 40 like that Apple,' they wrote.
