Behavior[]

Moths are extremely lazy, commonly sleeping a majority of the time even in night on top of their preferred areas. They don't commonly wake up, and even when they do in rare circ*mstances, they tend to simply hover in the air or crawl on the ground. In combat, they have three attacks: a headbutt swoop; a wave of dust that inflicts Bleed (which acts like Poison); and a cloud of dust that inflicts Bleed, similar to the Bee's pollen attack.

Interaction with Player[]

Moths are neutral to the player and commonly don't acknowledge their existence. They will fight back if attacked by the player.

Interaction With Other Creatures[]

Moths don't interact with other creatures, commonly sleeping in high or hard to reach areas away from them.

Advanced Loot Table[]

This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Moth. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.

Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.

Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Spawn Locations[]

Strategy[]

When fighting Moths, the main issue is finding a good area to kill them. Most are on high areas that may be easy to fall off such as the Stump or Wheelbarrow, so awareness of the surroundings is vital. The Spicy Staff or Sour Staff are great weapons to fight the Moth due to their elemental weaknesses and the staves' range. The Mint Staff can also work, though it has a much shorter range. Most of their attacks inflict dust effects, so the Termite Armor or Toxicology Badge can be useful to mitigate the slow effect and damage over time. All their attacks also inflict bleed, so the player must also manage their health. Their dust attacks are unblockable, so highly upgraded armor is recommended. Their headbutt is blockable, and will always happen after one of their dust attacks.

Trivia[]

  • The Moth doesn't appear to be based on any single real-life moth species in particular, and is an amalgamation of different traits of moths, like the dots on the wings and grayish-brown color.
