Biography[]
Early life[]
Nothing is known about Jill Valentine's early life, but she was born sometime in 1974 to her father who was French, and her mother who was of Japanese migratory descent (referred to as a "Nikkei").
Military and law enforcement career[]
In the early 1990s, Valentine served in the United States Army and got the attention of recruiters for Delta Force, the nation's primary counter-terrorism and special forces unit. In spite of her sex, Valentine was allowed to take part in the six-month intensive Operator Training Course, where she excelled in bomb disposal and lock picking and was known for her delicate though precise work, resilience, courage and discernment amid the danger. This experience made Valentine one of the only women in the world with Delta Force training.
Some time in 1996, Valentine was recruited by Albert Wesker for the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.), an elite unit of Raccoon Police Department (RPD) that relied on military veterans and weapons-trained scientists to solve serious crimes in Raccoon City, having only joined the unit due to their strong commitment to justice and desire to "experience the true feeling of life".
Despite keeping both her personal life and special forces training a secret, Valentine made friends with several S.T.A.R.S. members during this time, among them being Chris Redfield with whom she developed a close friendship and partnership, often being trained by him in marksmanship.
By July 1998, Valentine became the only woman to join Captain Wesker's Alpha Team; her function in the team was cited as a breaking and entering specialist, and in maneuvers was positioned at the rear of the team with S.T.A.R.S. helicopter pilot Brad Vickers.
Resident Evil[]
Jill, alongside Chris Redfield and the rest of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team, traveled to the Spencer Mansion in the Arklay Mountains to investigate reports of cannibalism that were going on there. While evading the zombies and B.O.W.s throughout the mansion, the team were betrayed by their leader, Albert Wesker, who revealed himself as a mole for the Umbrella Corporation. After Wesker was seemingly killed when the Tyrant was released and the mansion's self destruct sequence was activated, Jill and the surviving members of her team escaped the building before it blew up.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis[]
Jill was sent to Raccoon City to investigate an outbreak that had occurred there, only to find herself pursued by Nemesis, who was sent by the Umbrella Corporation to eliminate the S.T.A.R.S. team and anyone else who had extensive knowledge of Umbrella's activities. While evading her pursuer, she encounters U.B.C.S. officer Carlos Oliveira, and the two work together to escape. Eventually, she manages to destroy it and escape the city before the U.S. government dropped a nuclear warhead on it.

Resident Evil: Revelations[]

Resident Evil 5[]
In 2006, she and Chris went to Spencer estate to look for one of the Umbrella's original founders, Ozwell E. Spencer, but Albert Wesker got to him before they did. Wesker beats Chris and Jill, in a last effort to save Chris, pushed Wesker along with her down in the bottom of the mansion.
She then returns as a brainwashed servant to Wesker, but is freed by Chris and his new partner, Sheva. Leaving them behind to confront Wesker by themselves, Jill fainted after being freed from the mind control device. She is woken up by BSAA Delta Team Captain Josh Stone, whom he recognizes her immediately, and gets paired with him to escape the Tricell facility.
After reaching the volcano where the stealth bomber crashed into, Valentine lowered the rope ladder to allow Chris and Sheva to board Stone's helicopter and Wesker tried to bring the helicopter down with him. However, Wesker was eventually killed by Chris and Sheva using RPG-7 launchers against the bio-weapons developer and Valentine, along with her colleagues, returned to BSAA.
After returning to the BSAA, Jill was taken to the lab for rigorous testing due to her long-term viral exposures and drug overdoses. It was revealed that the side effects of the t-Virus affected the cell division in her body, which suppressed her physical deterioration but left her with psychological aftereffects. Eventually, she was able to resume her career.

Crosspedia entry[]
A member of the anti-bioterrorism organization "B.S.A.A." Has partnered with Chris since their time together in S.T.A.R.S. After working with him to resolve the "Mansion Incident" on the outskirts of Raccoon City, she headed into Raccoon City itself in order to investigate Umbrella, the company apparently pulling the strings. She has been a member of the B.S.A.A. since its founding, along with Chris.
She also played a central role in the incident aboard the Queen Zenobia, ultimately destroying the organization called Veltro and those backing them. Jill has a strong sense of justice, superlative physical capabilities and a solid understanding of the sciences.
Skilled with a lock pick, she has also been known as the "Master of Unlocking".

Only the Wii Fit Trainer need to be defeated to win.
Ready Player One[]
Jill Valentine also appears in 2018 Steven Spielberg's movie. She can be seen during the final battle along with Chris Redfield.
Personality[]
Numerous official documents, including her character file found in Resident Evil 5, highlight Jill's unrivalled ability to remain calm under extreme conditions, while the manual for the remake of the original Resident Evil says that her quick thinking has kept herself and her comrades alive on numerous occasions. During the Spencer Mansion incident, there was very few times where Jill lost her cool or showed any fear, barring a few occasions such as witnessing Joseph being mauled alive or when a rotting zombie attacked her from a bathtub, forcing Jill to stomp its skull and consequently vomit in nearby toilet.
Her profile in Resident Evil 3 describes her as cheerful yet determined, with a strong sense of justice, while her involvement with S.T.A.R.S., a biohazard containment unit, as well as a co-founding high ranking role within the BSAA, show her years of commitment to stopping bioterror and fighting for peace and the protection of innocents. In the Resident Evil 3 remake, while still strong-willed, Jill suffers from severe PTSD from the Spencer Mansion incident having several lucid nightmares of zombifying and claims it “Gets worse every night”.
Jill is a loyal partner and friend to her fellow soldiers, particularly Chris Redfield. Her entire involvement in the Il Veltro conspiracy began through her search for Chris when he was reported missing. During the raid on Spencer's Estate, she proved that she was even prepared to give her life to protect Chris and stop hated enemy, Albert Wesker, when she tackled Wesker out of a window and over a cliff edge as he prepared to kill Chris.
When she was taken by Wesker, Jill was experimented on and brainwashed by P30 which took a heavy toll on her physically despite granting her super strength and agility. Against her will, Jill became loyal to Wesker and Excella, assisting them in their plans and even going so far as to infect innocent lives with the Uroboros virus. Despite being used as a puppet, Jill was responsive and only spoke when necessary. She carried out her objectives without question.
Eventually, she did manage to fight back her brainwashed state thanks to Chris' voice calling out her name, but the effects of P30 proved to be too powerful for her to resist. Regardless, once Chris and Sheva freed her from Wesker's control, she soon came back to her senses and aided them in their fight against Wesker. Being partners since at least 1998, they seem to share a very strong bond revolving around their partnership.
Jill is shown to have a sense of humor, telling Barry in an email that since she was never given a funeral, she should better have a welcome back party. As such, cut-out audio from Lost in Nightmares has her joking with Chris about him getting friendly (flirting) with a co-worker.
In Death Island years after Wesker's death, Jill shown remorse for her actions although it wasn't her intentions due to her brainwashed by Wesker. She insisted to remain the BSAA to make up for the things she has done.
