Jersey Shore town tightens bans alcohol on beach, boardwalk (2024)

Wildwood has taken another step to curb rowdy behavior this summer by “adding teeth” to its ban on alcohol on the city’s beach and boardwalk just weeks after an unsanctioned pop-up party promoted on social media was canceled through threats of legal action.

While consumption of alcohol on the beach and boardwalk has long been illegal, now merely being in possession of alcohol is illegal, Mayor Pete Bryon said. The new ordinance goes into effect in mid-June.
