Issue/Introduction
If additional debugging is needed to troubleshoot an issue, this article provides instructions for enabling the additional logging information to be generated.
Environment
Release: All Supported Releases
Component: Clarity Jaspersoft
Resolution
SaaS customers: The logging needs to be enabled by the Broadcom Team. If you need any assistance in enabling logging, please reach out to Broadcom Support
Enable Debugging (On Premise)
- Connect to Jaspersoft console UI as superuser
- Go to Manage - Server Settings - Log Settings
URL will show as http<Clarityserver:port>/reportservice/log_settings.html - At the bottom there will be an empty text box, enter the debug value, and select log mode to debug.
Example: The first row is already added with 'com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.api.engine.jasperreports.util'. The second row is empty and can be used to add more debug entries.
If debugging is needed for queries, set the log setting SQL query executer to Debug
4. Restart JS Tomcat if needed (may or may not be needed depending on the exact issue you want to debug)
5. Observe the log:
$JSTomcat/webapps/reportservice/WEB-INF/logs/jasperserver.log
Disable the debug messages:
- Connect to Jaspersoft console UI as superuser
- Go to Repository/System Properties/GlobalPropertiesList - Edit
- Remove the loggers you no longer need
- Click Submit
